| archetiporchestra is the
"open project" where aldo mella carries out his ideas of musical representation. the orchestra playing in this record, formed in november 1993 for
the memorial concert of massimo urbani - a great jazz-man passed away- can be considered
as a world music ensemble. as a matter of fact, the musicians come from very different
musical fields, such as jazz, rock, classical and contemporary music;
archetiporchestra boasts over twenty of the best
piedmontese musicians; it is a "non-big-band", a multiform fresco of sounds and
voices.
aldo mella creates amazingly varied scoring thanks to the
the timber palette offered by the eclecticism of the orchestra members.
every track of the cd - both original compositios and not
- are created in perfect harmony between european orchestration and afro-american
improvisation, between the band and its soloists,between the musicians and their leader,
aldo mella.
an exciting experience for the musicians and the
audience, a repertoire wich is every time a pindaric flight without nose-dives, or rather
a dizzy punge off the fantastic music rollercoaster.
